高考失利、染着黄发的少年随母亲回到逐渐空置的重庆老屋，陪伴生命将尽的祖祖。在修补破窗、共饮牛奶与染回黑发的几天里，他在家人的期望、消失的故乡与即将到来的离别之间，重新理解了“根”的意义。
After failing the college entrance examination, a yellow-haired teenager returns with his mother to their nearly abandoned family home in Chongqing to stay with his dying great-grandmother. Over a few quiet days of mending a broken window, sharing milk, and dyeing their hair black, he begins to understand family, departure, and what it means to have roots.
